About our Silky BFL yarn base

Our Silky BFL 4 Ply yarn is a beautifully luxurious blend of Superwash Bluefaced Leicester wool and Grade A Mulberry Silk, combining strength, softness and elegant sheen in one stunning yarn base.

Bluefaced Leicester is prized for its long staple length, natural lustre and excellent durability, while the addition of mulberry silk brings a smooth texture and luminous shine. Together they create a yarn with beautiful drape, vibrant colour and crisp stitch definition.

Silky BFL absorbs dye exceptionally well, producing rich, bright colourways and striking speckles. The finished fabric has a gentle halo and elegant movement, making it perfect for shawls, garments and accessories where both drape and sheen really shine.
